Our Mission - Healthy Cats!
We are a 501(c)3 organization founded in September 2025, dedicated to supporting stray cat populations and preventing animal suffering through Trap-Neuter-Return initiatives. We first became aware of this need in our area when trying to help a local farmer manage the stray cat colony living his barn. We realized that there was no organization serving Bennington County equipped to manage stray cat populations, so we thought, why not us?! Our mission focuses on reducing cat populations humanely while improving animal welfare through vaccination, medical care, and population control. We are early in journey but hope to, over time, provide a resource for community members managing stray and feral cat colonies. We aim to engage volunteers for outreach, education, and caring for our feline friends. Together, we can create a better environment for both animals and the community!
Upcoming Events
Fall Trap Neuter Vaccinate Return
We're excited to announce another event to address the overpopulation and health concerns for the cats at a local farm in Southern Manchester on September 28th and 29th! We're actively fundraising to gather essential supplies, including vaccines, medication, and PPE for our dedicated team. Additionally, we're on the lookout for homes for the adorable kittens that are too young to be sterilized and we're collaborating with local rescues for their placement. TNR
Humane Approach
Our Trap-Neuter-Return program aims to humanely manage the feral cat population by capturing, sterilizing, vaccinating and returning them to their territories, thereby preventing overpopulation and spread of disease. During our first ever event, we were able to sterilize 32 cats and rehome 17 kittens
Outreach
Community Awareness
One of our core goals is to educate the public about the importance of spaying and neutering, thereby preventing unwanted cat population growth. We also act as a resource for care and information for community members navigating the management of feral cat communities
